CONNECTICUT COW EARNS TOP HONORS IN THE INTERNATIONAL JERSEY SHOW

MADISON, WISCONSIN – Arethusa Response Vivid-ET, owned by Arethusa Farm of Litchfield, Conn., was awarded Grand Champion honors at the 2012 International Jersey Show at World Dairy Expo. Vivid was the winning Four-Year-Old Cow, earning the $1,000 Udder Comfort Grand Champion Cash Award. The second place Four-Year-Old Cow, Random Luck Ray Helen, owned by Budjon Farms and Peter Vail of Lomira, Wis., was named the Reserve Grand Champion. Budjon Farms and Peter Vail also exhibited the Honorable Mention Cow of the show, Hillacres Morrae Maryland, the winning Five-Year-Old Cow.

Ron and Christy Ratliff of Garnett, Kan. took home the honor of Premier Breeder of the show. Premier Exhibitor of the show was awarded to Arethusa Farms of Litchfield, Conn. Tower Vue Prime Tequila-ET was named Premier Sire.

Judge Mark Rueth of Oxford, Wis. and Associate Judge, Cathy Yeoman of Dover, Okla. placed 388 entries.
