INTERNATIONAL HOLSTEIN SHOW CHAMPIONS HAIL FROM CANADA

MADISON, WISCONSIN – Eastside Lewisdale Gold Missy, a five-year-old cow from Ponoka, Alberta, was named Grand Champion of the International Holstein Show. Missy was the winner of the Five-Year-Old Cow class and was exhibited by Morsan, Van Ruinen Dairy, M. Butz and G Andreasen. Missy also was awarded the Udder Comfort $1,000 Grand Champion Cash Award. Reserve Champion of the show was the winning Junior Three-Year-Old Cow, Silvermaple Damion Camomile owned by Silvermaple and Stanhope-Wedgewood of Victoria British Columbia. Camomile was also the 2011 Champion Bred and Owned of the show.   

For the fourth year in a row, Braedale Goldwyn was named Premier Sire. Premier Breeder was Ferme Jacobs, Cap-Sante, QC.  Premier Exhibitor was Gen-Com Holsteins Ltd., Notre Dame-du, QC.

During the two-day show, Judge Gerald Coughlin of Peterborough, ON, Canada, and Associate Judge Joel Phoenix of Cannington, ON, Canada, placed 436 animals. Top awards and placings are as follows:
