Youth Contests

Youth competitions World Dairy Expo is the home of national judging and skills competitions at the 4-H, FFA, intercollegiate and post secondary levels. During the week, junior dairy cattle exhibitors also compete in the show ring and in showmanship competitions.

4-H teams also matched wits in the 4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl on Saturday, October 3.

Central National FFA events were held at World Dairy Expo on Tuesday, September 29, including dairy cattle judging, dairy products judging, showmanship and the Forage Management Cup.

Competition was intense at the 89th Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest on Monday, September 29. Teams and individuals were evaluated on their linear scoring, oral reasons and judging abilities.

The 21st International Post Secondary Dairy Cattle Judging Contest took place, Monday, September 30. Participants pitted their skills against one another in a three-pronged competition: practical contest, linear judging contest and traditional dairy cattle judging contest.

Junior dairy cattle exhibitors between the ages of 9 and 18 years of age competed in the junior, intermediate and senior divisions of the Youth Showmanship Contest on Thursday, October 1.
